Effective date: August 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Travel Spark Company LLC collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you visit San Diego Travels, contact us, or interact with features made available through this website. It also describes choices that may be available to you. This policy applies only to San Diego Travels and not to a tour operator, accommodation provider, booking platform, or other third party reached through the site.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, topic, and message you submit. If a newsletter feature is enabled and you choose to subscribe, we collect the email address you provide and related subscription records. Please do not submit payment-card data, passwords, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive information through a general contact form.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the site and its hosting infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver pages, maintain security, and diagnose errors. This information may include an Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, requested URL, referring URL, date and time of a request, response status, and similar server-log data. Security tools may also process request characteristics to identify malicious traffic, abuse, or attempted unauthorized access.
Cookies and local storage
WordPress, security tools, and enabled site features may use cookies or similar storage when technically necessary. For example, an administrative login requires authentication cookies, and a security control may retain a short-lived token. Nonessential analytics, advertising, embedded media, or personalization tools, if added, may use additional technologies and should be presented with any controls required for that configuration. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although doing so may affect features that depend on them.
Affiliate and booking interactions
The site may display tour, activity, or accommodation information supplied by third-party providers. Clicking a booking or provider link may send you to that third party. The outgoing link may contain an affiliate identifier that can allow the site to receive a commission if a qualifying transaction occurs. The third party may collect information under its own privacy policy. San Diego Travels does not receive your full payment-card details merely because you follow an external booking link.
2. How we use information
We may use information for the following purposes:
- to operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the site;
- to respond to messages and correction requests;
- to provide a newsletter or other communication you requested, if that feature is enabled;
- to understand aggregate site performance and improve editorial usefulness;
- to detect spam, fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity;
- to maintain records reasonably necessary for business, tax, dispute, and legal purposes; and
- to comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce site terms.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, the basis may depend on the context and may include your consent, performance of a requested service, legitimate interests in operating and securing the site, or compliance with a legal obligation. You may contact us if you have a question about a particular processing activity.
3. How information may be disclosed
We may disclose information to service providers that support hosting, security, email delivery, newsletter delivery, site maintenance, and similar operations. Those providers process information for the relevant service and are subject to their own contractual and legal obligations. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; protect rights, safety, and property; investigate fraud or abuse; enforce site terms; or support a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business.
We do not disclose contact-form information to independent booking providers merely because their listings appear on the site. If you choose to leave San Diego Travels and interact directly with a provider, that provider’s practices govern the information you submit there.
4. Third-party services and links
Pages may contain links to government agencies, cultural organizations, parks, publishers, booking providers, accommodations, tour operators, maps, or other external resources. A link does not make the external site part of San Diego Travels. Review the third party’s terms and privacy information before submitting personal information or completing a transaction.
If embedded media, analytics, maps, advertising, or other third-party services are enabled in the future, they may receive technical information such as an IP address and browser details when loaded. The site’s actual configuration and any available privacy controls determine whether and when those requests occur.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to a message, maintaining subscription preferences, protecting the site, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. Security logs and rate-control records may be kept for shorter operational periods, while records connected to a transaction, dispute, or legal obligation may be retained longer.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information in our control. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for using an appropriate device and connection and for avoiding sensitive information in general correspondence.
7. International processing
The site, its service providers, and recipients of information may operate in more than one jurisdiction. Information may therefore be processed in a place whose data-protection rules differ from those where you live. Where required, appropriate measures may be used for a cross-border transfer. Contact us if you would like more information about a transfer related to information you submitted.
8. Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to appeal a response or contact a supervisory authority. These rights are not identical in every jurisdiction.
To make a privacy request, use the Contact page and describe the request. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. We will not ask you to provide a password through the contact form. If you receive optional marketing email, use the unsubscribe control in that message. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
9. Children’s privacy
San Diego Travels is a general-audience travel information site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
10. Do Not Track and preference signals
Browsers may offer Do Not Track or other privacy preference signals. Because standards and legal requirements continue to develop, the site’s response may depend on the signal, the feature involved, and applicable law. You can also manage cookies through your browser and avoid optional external links or embedded services.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the site, service providers, or legal requirements. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes may also be highlighted by an additional notice when appropriate. Your continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy.
12. Contact
Questions or requests about this Privacy Policy may be submitted through the Contact page. Please identify the request clearly and do not include sensitive personal information that is not needed for us to respond.
